The Highland Confederacy is pleased to inform all interested parties that it is resuming operations in the Caribbean and is once again actively recruiting captains interested in opposing British Tyranny while making a healthy profit. The new Proprietor General of the society is Captain Namo Larkin; he has agreed to set time aside from his busy and profitable ship-building enterprise to oversee the growth of this particular phoenix.

Interested applicants should visit the Recruitment Office where they will find our application process outlined in detail. If you would like to know more about the society please send an in-game tell or message to Namo Larkin (or his sons Danivar Larkin and Danto Larkin) or Deoiridh D'Alembert on Antigua.

Member List Maintenance Complete
Sat Nov 01, 2008 8:48 am by Deoiridh
I have finished sorting through the member list and removing people who have been inactive for some time. A rather sad task but long overdue (March was obviously the high point for a lot of people!). Once again, my apologies for any inadvertent deletions. We would also be more than happy to welcome back any former members of the Confederacy.

Next time I am on the high seas I will finish editing the in-game member roster to correspond with this list.

Member list maintenance
Thu Oct 30, 2008 8:10 am by Deoiridh
Our record-keeping has been woefully behindhand of late. Over the next few days I will be deleting from the membership lists those who are no longer active members of the confederacy. The criteria for what counts as "active" is anyone who has visited the site in the last three months. Allies who have also visited us in that time will remain on the books.

If I inadvertently delete anyone's alt, my humble apologies.

Likewise, if anyone who has been removed subsequently wishes to return they would be more than welcome.

A general meeting of the confederacy will be taking place in La Pouliche Alerte over the next week or so. The meeting will be an RP activity with excursions into the OOC realm as necessary. I hope as many of you as possible can make it.

The Highland Confederacy--Bill of Expectations
Wed Apr 30, 2008 8:18 pm by Deoiridh
The Highland Confederacy - Bill of Expectations

The Highland Confederacy has the following expectations of its officers and members. The society understands that special circumstances can pertain from time to time. However, consistent failure to meet a significant number of the expectations is inevitably grounds for asking if this is the right society for that member.

(1) Common Fellowship

(a) Each member should view the society as their home-away-from-home. Each member should be positive and supportive of other members. Each member should ““Ask not what your society can do for you, but what you can do for your society.” Officers should consider it their duty to foster this fellowship at all times, and to set a good example.

(2) United Upon the Sea

(a) Frequent Teaming:
Members should feel it their duty to team with one another when circumstances allow. This means joining others when teams are announced, and forming your own team if none with openings exist.

(b) Forming a Team:
When recruiting for a team, be clear about the team’s purpose (PvE or PvP, missions or high …

The Highland Confederacy - Articles of Confederation

Article I

The Highland Confederation is founded upon the following principles, to which all members subscribe:

(1) Common Fellowship:
There shall be good fellowship among all leaders and members.

(2) United upon the Sea:
Society members sail together and aid each other upon the high seas, but no member is forced to sail with any other specific member. We strive to be chivalrous in victory and gracious in our (rare) defeats.

(3) Shipbuilding Economy:
The society shall seek to make ships reasonably available to members at reasonable prices. Society shipbuilders shall use their own best judgment in how to accomplish this, including terms, prices, and delivery times.

(4) Coordinated Military Strategy:
The society leadership shall provide strategic military guidance to its members. All such guidance shall be recommendations, not requirements.

(5) Spirit of the Age:
Society members shall uphold the honor and spirit of the Highland Confederation, pray for the return of the House of Stuart to the English …
