*Letter written on the scarlet red dress of a drunken harlot who politely sits so it can be read*

Greetings Officers of the Confederacy,

My name is Giselle Bardot. Till the new year I was what one would call a "Servant of the French Ruling Class". My duties varied from that of a simple house maid and cook to teaching the children of my employers how to sail their small boats. I was allowed minor freedoms and given a heavily structured education so I could one day be a proper governess.

Unfortunately a British raid on my home island cut that life and my sight...unwantingly short. Being witness to the horrors of "British Power" has shown me how little benefit this "New World" will gain from their influence.

As one of the few survivors of my island I gathered who and what I could and made my way to this "Florida" to find new footing. I've no desire to be rich, little interest in politics, and know only the basics of the profession of privateteering I now find myself in...I want only to cause as much misery, death, and chaos to the British Crown as possible before the good lord takes me.

I learn quick, drink without end, and carry the arrogance, fury, and grace of my now dead island home with me into all I do. I hope to be of service to this Confederacy as both a thorn or steel and harlot of doom.

Respectfully,

Giselle Bardot

P.S. Feel free to keep the drunken harlot but do send back the scarlet dress...it's a favorite.

OOC: I'm in a curious position as my RL duties are that of a freelance writer/illustrator/libertine so I've not had the pleasure to RP in a game setting for some time. I'm coming off a many MMO's as just a player...but I'm a huge fan of the era PotBS takes place in and more importantly the style of game it presents. I played the Sea Dogs series (some of you may know Sea Dogs II and the first PotC game...) and its community heavily modified the games...as such PotBS bares many similarities to that work for me only with a stronger focus on economy. I've been instantly hooked as a result and have been waiting for a game like this for YEARS...

I've had serious issues with sharing my real name, sex, etc. in games in the past so I keep that pretty guarded...but I'm in my late 20's, live on the west coast, easy to get along with, RP for the sake of enjoyment and adding to the game immersion and actively want to help make this game fun for all without being a jerk about it. Having read up on the server, players, and this organization...it seems to be the best place and people to explore the game with.

Due to my work I have a pretty erratic schedule but I try to log in for at least an hour a day and a bit more on the weekend when possible. If anything is preplanned I tend to adjust my schedule for it...thanks for reading this rather longwinded intro.

With a Harlot involved, I tend to believe me mate Henk would be better suited to introductions, but since I can keep the drink flowing without end, allow me to introduce myself. *bows* Ballymodan Hagartys, or as I am known in these waters, Whiskey Pete. Welcome to our Confederation of fine Officers, Merchants and Scoundrels. I think you will find us to be a helpful bunch so feel free to ask for anything you need! Now, may I offer you some of my Special Recipe Rum, or perhaps a hit of my Irish Whiskey?

I resent that remark!

First and beforemost i am a gentleman, many would say 'o fortune and that would be somewhat fittin' no doubt!
But as many can read in me introductions as well as extended biography, i am most definately not frivolous in any way mayhaps only slightly i might add! What ye daft lot do not seem to undertsand is the fact that i hold every woman 'o
any profession in the highest respect and would therefore ne'er take advantage 'o in any way!

Hmmm now that that has been said i bid ye a warm welcome to our hideout milady and i do hope that ye may find your way amongst these scoundrels...

Mlle Bardot,

As me good friends Captains Whiskey Pete and Henk Owl, each in their own inimitable fashion, have already provided ye a hearty welcome I will simply echo their greetings and say quite frankly that if ye want to cause as much misery, death, and chaos to the British Crown as possible then yuv fallen in with like minded souls, all of whom have a particular dislike for the English for various reasons, some who have had experiences similar to yur own.

We do a goodly bit of privateering so feel free to ask to be included in the groups as ye see them forming up. Ask lots of questions, Whiskey, me and a bunch of other fine rascals will be glad to answer them.

Lastly, please feel free to do some pokin' into our stacks of letters, missives, and other communiqués found here. It will give ye a good idea of what's happing at the moment. Yer always welcomed to contribute as you feel inclined.

Once again, welcome!

Captain Jack McBain
Commodore
The Highland Confederacy

My dear Mr Owl, I was not implying that you prefer your women to be of ill repute, just simply that you prefer your women period! Very Happy Of course we know there to be no finer gentleman even amongst us scoundrels!

Oh quite right! We should not judge the most slaternus trolup by thier past deeds as we seldom can know the current state of anothers soul... The Almighty does wash us white as snow... carry on...

Pirates would be a more appropriate term if ye do mind me sayin' so! After your little drinking 'n hunting party went after that Dutch convoy yesterday, 'o course i followed but found myself directly in front of the two Raa escorts and was helpless while they took away me stern with only one or two broadsides! It was only after that that i gave me crew the order to fire upon my own countrymen!

Shame on ye all i say!

"Ish protest" said Lisette with steel in her voice.

"Ish know Giselle. She is last thing from harlot. A very elegant and intelligent woman! If anyone treat her like harlot, and survive her blade, they must answer to mine!"

No need for strong words nor threats milady von Klein, no one did suggest that our "little" libertine in fact
be a lady 'o ill repute so put away that little sword before you either hurt yerself or i would be forced to pry it
from your hands!

In fact you know me well enough to testify that i am in fact a true gentleman and i hold the ladies
in the greatest respect possible!

Many thanks for the welcomes, it's a tough life this privateering but I'm growing to understand it more and more. All I need now is a better ship and some battle under my belt...

I look forward to sailing with you all at some point and causing some real terror to those who would cross us...

After all you can't really be doing much good at anything if someone doesn't want you dead.
