IC:

Bonjour, I doubt you recognise the family name as we are no longer welcome in France, My great great grandfather father, Comte Reynald La Ker made sure of that. During the Wars Of Religion he refused to take a side, eventually angering both. Before the Edict of Nantes in 1598 the family had been impovrished of its wealth, driven out of its lands in the Pas de Calais region, we fled to the new world with what little funds we had. My family was amongst the first to settle in the New World. We were part of the first families to settle Fort Caroline before the Spaniards drove us out. We then settled on the Island of St. Kitts. Later we settled in Charlestown near our old lands at Fort Caroline.
Today, I am the last of the La Ker family. After many years of bitter struggle, I have come to recognise that with the change in fortunes in France, comes opportunity. The Regency of the Duke of Orleans means a fresh start for me and my family name. Perhaps with hard work and diligence (and a burning hatred for the English pirates that have slain my familiy) I can have my families title restored by working to catch the eye of the Duke (a man who cares nothing of religion, and recognises hard work and candor). Perhaps soon I can have my title of Comtess La Ker back.

Hi, Im Amanda. Just now returning to MMORGS after a 3 year hiatus. I work in the tech field, and need some way to socialise as I work horrendous hours.

Welcome m'lady. I hope you find that we do not place stock in who is welcome in France or elsewhere, for all are welcome in our Confederacy. We all share a past that brings us together as kindred spirits. Welcome and feel free to ask for any assistance you need. You will find us a helpful lot.

Madamoiselle La Ker,

I must admit, reading through your missive sent chills down my spine, for our stories are all too similar. It was not religion that drove me out of France however, but something almost as fickle, love. Tainted love you may say. The end result was the same, my remaining Family fallen upon by English "Privateers" and slain on their way to their new lands outside of Tampa.

Should you need a compatriot in arms in times of war, or a willing ear in times of peace, I serve at your pleasure madame. I think you may find the Chateau to your liking should you need some time away from the hubub of society as well.

Welcome again to our ranks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I.

Signed,
~~M.Baudelaire

Madamoiselle La Ker,

How good of you to drop your application off to us. I do hope that you will find a place in our ranks. It was a pleasure meeting you the other day in Grenville. Fair winds to you and yours.
