Weeks after the extravagant masquerade ball, Serafie was visited at her Tampa estate by a messenger from her father the duc d’Aumane. The letter from her father had her in tears. He wrote of his angry that Serafie had spent so much money on a villa in Tampa and Grenville and all of the decorations and cloths she splurged on over the year. He said the costs nearly broke him. As a result, he stripping her of her titles in Florida and was sending her back to France. Further, once in France she would be simply an aid to the chancellor of Aumane. The loss of her influence, money and titles would surely cost her many friends as well, she would be shamed.

Faced with losing everything in this new world she had come to love including her friends, Serafie sent a protest to her father. Expecting her father to back down on his demands, Serafie was instead taken into custody by a detachment from her father. Thankfully a servant was able to get away from the guards to Madam Baudelaire’s estate nearby to spread the news of the abduction.

The ship carrying Serafie was sailing from Florida to France, several well armed vessels gave chase and boarded. It was several of Serafie’s allies, the Seigneur Marchand, Madam Baudelaire, Lady Chantilly Angevin, Cathern Flowers, Commodore de'Montfort, Captain Micum, Michael, Delehandro, Liam, and their ships who loyally came to their friends rescue after learning of the abduction. To protect Serafie and themselves, they were disguised as Pirate ships. There was little loss of life, the add-hoc pirates plundered a bit for show then took Serafie hostage and sent the French vessel on its way. In this way, everyone would think the Noble’s Daughter was captured by pirates, giving her a way to hide from authorities and save the Lesleque nobility the public shame of such family in-fighting. What was left of the abductors would have much to explain to Serafie’s father.

Serafie was so ashamed of everything she refused to go back to see her father. Further, she might well cause her friends to be hurt if the French authority knew who helped her. She had to change the way she looked, she had to cast off all that she knew about being a noblewoman and blend in with the commoners. She would now need the most help from her friends, to learn how to adapt to her new life, however long that would last.

What they didn't know as she pouted and cried about her plight, is how thankful she was to be among them and not back in France.

(this is my RP way of leaving HC, i thank the HC leadership and members for a warm welcome and comfy stay, i hope to see you again soon)

[I'll be happy to continue the role-playing of your transition from rich brat to common outcast. Should be good fun]
