In Character Section

To Whom it May Concern,

It is with great humility that I respectfully submit my dossier for your review. I, Matthieu Sauviat, Lt. in the French Navy and formally of the Flat Earth Society am currently without a social post.

While I continue to serve our soverign interests in the colonies and am a ardent supporter of the crown; I having been raised in the company of social regard find my current lack there of unsettling.

It is in regards to such that I write. I have had the privlidge of talking off hand to several of your Captains, both French and otherwise, and have routinely found myself impressed with the forsight, intelligence and belief that they have shown.

It is my hope that should my dossier be accepted that I might garner more information about the world in which we live, especially in those matters outside of my knowledge in regards to the British and her "domestic" policies while serving with like minded Captains. The benefits would, in my hope, be two fold and serve both of our interests. As I gain the company of capable and respectable Captains who can teach me of things beyond my own knowledge my status with the Navy might serve the interests of your groups as a report is developed and even if some issues are not seen eye to eye, you would have a if not another liason to the crown.

I quietly await your response,

Matthieu Sauviat

Player Description: Ryan. College Student, Father, Husband.

Official Forum Name: Mathieu

Profession: Naval Officer

What is RP to you? Stories. Something worth telling. I absolutely enjoy writing pieces that hopefully make people think, laugh or at least move to action. The enjoyment from being in character and playing a dynamic role with other people is just as alluring as it sparks the mind and in my opinion far more enjoyable then the brutal banter that so often gets thrown about by... more aggressive players.

Why would you like to join the Highland Confederacy? Until recently I had been with the Flat Earth Society but several minor personality differences and a sincere lack of role play simply made it tough for me to want to play. I absolutely love the people in Flat Earth Society. All of them. While I miss their company, I prefer good solid RP and a more relaxed environment then some of their more aggressive PVP'ers enjoy. I suppose the very thing that makes them so effective at PVP, which they are, is one of the things that isn't "me" per say. I understand that you don't normally accept Naval Officers but I think it'd be fun to play a liason of sorts and I've loved what I've read in your RP forums.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to message, email, tell, or scream at me.

Blessings Matthieu,

I regret to hear that your stay with our friends at the Flat Earth Society did not prove to be a suitable match for you. While, I have nothing but the greatest esteem for the reputation they have made for themselves in defence of God and France, I can none the less understand the need to balance one's fierce determination to stand and fight with a certain level of culture and refinement when possible. I am glad to say that I personally have found a nice blend of the two in the Highland Confederacy and hope you will find the same.

And while we are a privately run organization and do not regularily accept Naval Officers, we do maintain close ties to the French Navy and on occasion accept a liaison. As it happens we have recently had one of our Naval Officers assigned elsewhere and could use another able military mind. So on behalf of the Confederacy I would like to welcome you aboard! Please feel free to make it known to a Confederacy member in port that you have been accepted and they will help you locate an officer who can bring you into the society.

I look forward to seeing you in Mass and accepting your confessions!

Your Brother in Christ,

Bishop Aidan McDermott

Welcome Captain Sauviat;

First let me say that despite what you may have heard we do accept Naval Officers my Son Danto Larkin is a Naval Officer. The only questions I have at this time is what is your normal tour of duty on the High Seas if you have a normal one and of what rank have you most recently acquired.

For a more formal introduction I am Namo Larkin and at the moment one of the major Shipbuilders of the group. My Operation is currently located in Cayo but you will probably find me somewhere near the Harbor Master in the City of Tampa where my Plantation and Textil Mill is located. Altho I myself don't often spend much time in Battles I do make trips into sometimes hostal waters in order to gain materials needed for my indevers.

My other son Danivar is a Privateer but did serve some time in the French Navy before being discharged. He now carries a Letter to serve the French cause as a privateer.

Love they enemies Owl! Are you per chance a part of the "Crimson Blades" pirate guild? I hear they have a personal vendetta with Flat Earth. A Crimson member was boasting on the FLS forums regarding how they set a trap for some Flat Earther's that were hunting them and took out a couple 4th rates. Sneaky Devils! Twisted Evil

All I'll say is that I have the deepest respect for all members of the Flat Earth Society. Beyond that I have no right, privlidge or reason to say anything other than such.

I appreciate the warm welcome and will do my best to seek one of you out when I have a free moment and find myself sailing.

Lt. M. Sauviat.

The Bishop formally invited you last night, so you should be able to accept the invitation next time you are in the burning sea.

Ah, and I apologize for not answering one of the questions earlier.

I sail where I am needed. If that is serving the Navy's interests around Louisiana, helping new Captains around Florida or sailing escort through Antilles I have no preference. At the end of the day as long as I feel like I have contributed to someones well being I'd consider that a good day.

As for skill, The Navy itself considers me a Lt. Commander or some such with the right to command ships of 36th rank or lower.

Obviously this is a dynamic figure but I hope the above gives you some idea of what you were asking.

Regards,
M.S
