Character Theme Music

Okay, maybe I'm just a little weird, but I have certain songs in my mp3 archive that, when I play them, make me think of my character. Sometimes at good moments, sometimes bad ones, some for the lyrics and some for the music. Does anyone else do that? Maybe you try it if you don't, it's great for putting yourself in character before you do any RP.

And after that, you should either find the song on YouTube or put it there yourself to share with us. I think it would provide a bit of insight to our characters rich inner lives.

This would be Chantilly on a good day. I can see her seeing about her business in the morning, checking up on her ships, going out sailing. When she's smiling, this is the song. She's got hope and she's alive.

And this would be Chantilly on her bad days... which are more often than not. When she's disappointed, or hurting, or remembering the past, or feeling hopeless or lovesick, this is her. It's sad, it's wishful, it's a bit depressing.

I can relate though not for this character....yet. But I recall having similiar feelings about certain songs for my character in Anarchy Online. But then, I played that toon for 5 years so, grew quite attached to her.

Back to the present, I'll go ahead an open myself up to the scorn and ridicule of all by posting something when I get back home.

I usually have some Tchaikovsky, Bach, Vivaldi, or Grieg ready for the battle instances on rotation while I play because I grew quickly tired of the Game's soundtrack.

Someone (Chantilly) recently provided me with the idea of adding some things in for my Character's sake, so I dug through my music drive. I tried to keep it classical, or at least French, to keep with the mood and aesthetic.

Pulling a late night at work but if your looking for some musical variance you can always tune into www.bootyisland-radio.com.

The DJ on now is doing a valentines day special but he does Movie Soundtracks and Score which are great to play by.

Well there are some pieces i would like to contribute but i fear that some may be mayhaps
"mildly" appropriate to say the least...

In character:

-Something a bit more darker that would better discribe my feelings as 'o late, battle, agony as well as sorrow,
grief and pain. This would be the musical piece most fittin' my character as well as myself, aptly named Fleur du Mal...

-The end 'o me as i foresee it by the hands of the English, when the gallows await me! And as i slowly walk through the crowd bein' spit upon and mocked face slightly upward fighting back the tears, the meadows of heaven shall await me!

-Givin' chase as the pack 'o wolves close in on the merchantman, dedicated to my most esteemed partner in crime *ahum* bussiness and fellow society leader Davey Dubhlainn the mad Irishman Sinn Féin laddy!

-A song by Sarah Brightman that brings tears to me eyes as well as has the power to take me away across

-Another Sarah song that ye just have to hear.

-The lady in black, what's more to say really?! A "tavern" song that more describes the flirtatious
gentleman ways 'o me!

-Here is a song that would describe some darker if not more animalistic instincts, it is only ovious that i lack such
feelings as ye all know!

-A song i would like to dedicate to me brother from Sweden young master Hawk!

-A song that takes me back to tales 'o my past and the barbary raiders a great pirate song indeed, salaam aleikum!

It is interesting to see the amount of difference from Mozart to Rod Zombie! There are a whole list of Flogging Molly songs that I can listen to and just really get into character (or at least want a Guinness ) This is one of Whiskey's favorites for just frivolity ;

Okay, now I am a little , I don't know, wierded out I guess. First a little background. The name Whiskey Pete has comes from goofing around a LONG time ago. For those that remember the original worms game, I had created a team of Irish worms. My son and I came up with names like Two Gun O'Toole and Whiskey Pete. From there, I liked the name so a lot of games I have had a Whiskey Pete character.

Now when pirates came along, it seemed perfect use for the character. Ballymodan Hagartys is truly a great great etc grandfather of mine. I created a story of my hair being the color of the peat fires used to make the whiskey. Someone just came up to me in the game said great name, great song.

With this post, I decide to look it up. Well, seems Whiskey Pete is the code name for white phosphorus used by the miltary. There are a couple of bizarre protest songs called 'Whiskey Pete'

I have no idea what the video is trying to convey so just ignore it and listen to the music. That's Kristn before and after combat.

There's another song, doubt I would find it, "To Odr" by Mother Destruction. The main portion is the repeating of the line, "Tears! Flesh! Hair! Bones!"

That is Kristn in combat. Fierce, unwavering, uncompromising and utterly fearless.
