The purpose of this thread is to help those who might not be around during the various impromptu RP sessions that have been occuring around the game world. This way, those that are not present can get some OOC insight on what's going on around them. It is my hope that by keeping an informal log of what goes on, it will benefit our community role-playing experience.

The sort of details needed are time, location, characters involved, and a plot summary. Chat logs aren't necessary, though if you want to include an outside link to them for interested parties, that would be fine. Try to both give your perspective of what happened, as well as what you think might have happened from the other players' perspective if they differ.

Happy RPing!

After an exceptionally embarrassing expose of her love triangle (Chantilly loves Emile, William Brown loves Chantilly) by a vengeful Marinus during Friday's Grenville Tavern meetup...

A distraught Chantilly decides that everything she does and feels seems to cause more trouble. She pens two letters - one to Emile, and one to William Brown - apologizing for everything and confessing that she is going to New Orleans to turn herself in for her past crimes as Mean Celestine, the pirate.

Sunday, February 18, 1720

In New Orleans, Chantilly has resigned herself to her likely sentence of death. However, William Brown arrives with a bundle of paperwork from various officials appearing to pardon her for her past.

Soon afterwards, Emile deMontfort also arrives at the Magistrate's office with different, official orders, but ones that also exonerate Chantilly for her past. It is revealed that William has falsified the release papers he brought, and Emile is forced to put William under arrest.

Marinus Marchand is also present during the arrest as a witness. He is quite annoyed by the entire scene, and tries to convince Emile that using the deMontfort name to get Chantilly released is too shameful and damaging to Emile's reputation. He is unable to convince Emile of this, however, and Chantilly is spared from the gallows.

Chantilly becomes even more despondant than before, as the two men she is closest to have now robbed her of her chance to atone for her past, and moreover, she is furious with William for breaking the law to save herself, a criminal.

Both Chantilly and William are returned to Grenville under Emile's care - Chantilly is free, William is still in trouble with the law.

Whilst discussing important business with Mlle. Serafie Lesleque in Grenville, Chantilly Angevin did impose most rudely upon the two in the midst of their discourses.

Words were exchanged in escalating fashion until such a time as an offer was made to Mlle. Angevin whereby her problems might be resolved. In light of a religous objection raised by Mlle. Angevin, the proposal was shelved until the feasibility of an alternative could be explored.

Mlle Serafie Lesleques dignity was offended, and likely her safety threatened by the overbearing and imposing tone and affect adopted by Mlle Angevin. It was only through swift resolution of the situation that an attack of the vapours was averted.

Obviously accounts of the incident might differ from that offered here...

What follows is a brief account of the events of one Josephine Baudelaire, known more commonly as Madam Baudelaire. The actual events may vary somewhat from the transcriptions here, as these entries were often based on second hand and informal knowledge. They are presented in rough order of their occurance, although recorded dates vary from account to account.

Quote :

M.Baudelaire Parents Killed en route to New Worlde
Allegedly by British Privateers.

Josephine Arrives in Tampa
Following the dark rumors of her flight from Paris, the sole remaining heir to the Baudelaire estates arrives and sets up her families estates. Over three years pass.

M.Baudelaire Joins the Highland Confederacy
Swayed by their cause and many virtues, Madam Baudelaire joins the ranks of the Confederates of the Highlands.

Participates in the Successful Defense of Roseau
After a crazed hectic engagement with the British, M.Baudelaire and her Postillion Frigate survive the First Battle for Roseau, emerging victorious.

A Meeting with Wilhelm von Somborn
During a routine visit to Somborn Shipwrights, where M.Baudelaire is delivering provisions, she discusses the moral correctness of Slavery with one Mssr. von Somborn.

Baudelaire Fleet Grows, New Captains Hired
As the fleet grows, M.Baudelaire hires new faces to Captain her vessels. Captain Royer, previously of the French Navy, Madmoiselle Pepin, and Pavel are hired on initially.

Wolf Pack Squadron Patrols Contested Waters
A small squadron of fast, light ships, all Highland Confederates, sails the waters fighting piracy of the French trade lanes. M.Baudelaire makes friends with the Captains Serafie, Micum, Lisette, Amanda and others.

Young Girl Arrives on Baudelaire Estates
A young girl, aged seven or eight years, arrives on the Baudelaire estates, causing widespread upset. An expidition is put forth to find the other survivors.

Pirate Hunting Expedition Sets Sail
M.Baudelaire leads a small force of four hundred or so soldiers and sailors to find the missing French colonists. Less than three hundred return, although a handful of colonists are rescued, including the young girls sister. Captain Pavel is killed in action by the mysterious Pirate Captain, whom leaves a Jack of Spades playing card on the corpse of his victims.

M.Baudelaire Takes on the Two Young Orphan Girls as Wards
Their parents having been killed, and no other relatives being located, Josephine decides to adopt the pair of sisters as her wards. They join her household outside of Tampa.

Befreinds A Certain Captain Cathern Flowers
After several weeks at sea hunting pirates successfully together, M.Baudelaire puts into port with one Captain Flowers and procedes to develop a friendship with the fellow Captain.

Wounded at Second Battle of Roseau
Her ship intact, but suffering from a close pistol shot, Josephine retreats from the failed Second Battle of Roseau, in which the British forces took the port.

Routine Patrols off of Irish Point
In which M.Baudelaire befriends Chantilly and Marinus whilst hunting pirates alongside Micum. Piracy is halted for a time.

Emancipation
In a potentially disasterous financial move, M.Baudelaire frees all of her slaves and indentured servants, apparently spurred onwards by her conversations with Mssr. von Somborn. Several families leave her employee, yet the bulk remain.

Organizes Confederate Masquerade Ball
With the aid of one Captain Seamus O'Flynn, M.Baudelaire organizes the first semi-formal Social event of the Highland Confederacy. The event is to take place on her estates located outside Tampa.

Wednesday, February 20, 1720

A hearing is held in the Grenville magistrate's office in the matter of William Brown's forging of documents. William is found guilty, but is released to the care of Madam Baudelaire, who claims that William is her slave. In actuality, this is not the case, and Chantilly only arranged it to save William from what would undoubtedly be an unjust punishment for his crimes. Still, William endures a whipping before he is finally "freed".

After the hearing, Marinus makes sure to remind Chantilly of their meeting in Grenville tavern the previous day, and tells her to make a formal and public apology to Serafie Lesleque for upsetting her. Chantilly, clearly of no will to argue with a man whom she has come to see as her superior in every way, mumbles an agreement.

Later that evening, in the tavern, Chantilly thanks Madam for helping to save William, until she notices that Emile deMontfort is in the tavern as well, in seemingly high spirits. She takes this opportunity to speak to him about the recent events, but things soon turn into an argument, as Chantilly desperately wants some solid reason for why the Commodore came to find her in New Orleans, and Emile is unwilling to explain on a personal level. Both leave the argument believing that their warm feelings towards each other have been made clear, and also believe that they have been rebuffed, when in neither case is it true.

The now fairly broken-hearted Chantilly recieves a small pep talk from Madam, who tells her to find happiness for once, for both their sakes. Chantilly takes this somewhat to mean that she should finally give up on the Commodore, who she is convinced will never love her, and pursue William, whom she does care for, but not nearly in the same way, or of similar degree.

Chantilly and William then have a touching moment where she expresses gratitude for William's tireless efforts to be kind and save her from herself. She confesses that although her heart is conflicted because of Emile, that she does have feelings for him. William takes this as a sign to move forward with her, and they have an evening of dinner and romantic banter. They plan to attend Madam Baudelaire's ball together.
