| Thought this may be of a certain interest.
Following a discussion I had yesterday with Captains Bognor and Ldave, I realized that people that are not in the trade are somewhat unfamiliar with ship's cost. Here is a short list of ships you may have heard of, but probably never seen, and their respective cost: Note: Final costs are calculated assuming a) all raw materials are either produced or bought at cost, no wages and no margins. b) final assembly is made in a Master large shipyard,no wages and no margins..
Naval Officer SOL:
4th rate Alexander 62k 4th rate Mordaunt 40k

3rd rate Valiant 3.1 Millions 3rd rate Weeden 3.5 Millions 2nd rate Trinity 5.6 Millions 2nd rate Triumphant 6.0 Millions 1st rate Prince 9.7 Millions 1st rate Invincible 10.1 Millions
Privateer Super Frigates

Hercules Sleek 389 k Hercules Heavy 391 k Hercules MC 2.7 Millions
Freetrader Galleons

San Mateo Heavy 357 k San Mateo Traders 512 k Couronne 2.9 Millions
Lineship bundles* 315 k (major component in the cost of above ships except 4th rates) Unsecured: Additional cost will be incurred in terms of MoV, Magistrate's Commendations, Royal Encomiums etc ( could be pretty substantial ex; 10 Royal for Sleek Herc, 30 Royals for Heavy Herc and 90 Royals for the MC)
So far, at least 3 1st rate and more than a dozen 2nd rate have been sunk in PB or PvP on Antigua. When HC left Bonny the 2 largest ships ( on Bonny) were 2 Heavy Hercules!!! |

| Admiralty is the game of Kings. God rest King Charles Stuart, by the Grace of God, King of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc who paid for that game with his head. | |
