| I went with most PvE, but it was a close call. Only reason I really put that was because I see PvE as much more reliable than PvP...I could jump into it much more easily on a whim, whereas PvP would require sailing to a contested zone, potentially assembling a group, etc. Things may change in the future, but for now I'll be looking toward questing, establishing industry, building wealth, etc. |

| I definately wouldn't want our merchants going into contested zones without escort of some sort (hopefully from our privateers), but I do hope to see us really getting our goods into the contest zones. Since all items have to be gotten from the ports where they are placed for auction, I hope we can get a sizeable amount of goods into areas where they will be used most. Extended actions in contested areas will cause our people to need to know where to get good stuff. Though other safe markets will be important too. We certainly won't force RvR on anyone of course. We'll have to see how the game plays out.
The big problem I see with those not wanting to RvR much is when a port they were in peacefully turns contested before they leave. Then they'll be stuck in a RvR zone whether they want it or not. I've already heard of that happening in beta with one of the previews.
Though in the end like with any group it will come down to cost vs reward for us to tell if it's worth it. Though I can see some awesome tactics being used to either get to a contest port or putting one into contention.
Hopefully though we'll have enough numbers to help our merchants out when they need it. It's just hard to speculate without being in the game.

| Heck, it's hard to speculate on almost anything.
One thing I do know, though, is that when zones become contested and force prices up, I'm gonna be running those blockades! |

| Aye, I think attacking guilds will be less of a problem in contention areas then rogue individuals with a few friends. No doubt the highest bidder will be close to these contention areas also, I can only imagine the blood and gold that await the confederacy! |

| I went with slightly more PVE - like said above - because it requires no coordination of anything.
That said, I think there is a great opportunity to have several guild missions running that are easy to jump in and work towards on maybe even an individual basis. It seems like there will be good opportunities like that within the structure of an even reasonably organized guild. |

| I don't think its that likely for someone to get "stuck" in a pvp zone if they have all three of the ships they are allowed to have. Unless its changed since last I heard, can't you "teleport" to any of your ships? So unless you have all three ships docked in contested ports, it just doesn't seem that likely to come up. I'm sure it will happen from time to time, but I don't think it should be too crippling for people that don't want to do RvR.
Needless to say, I am not in the group that doesn't want to do RvR. I'll probably still do more pve than pvp though, just because its easier to find the action.
Alas, I seem to be too late for the poll. But on the upside I got to say that Hamish has lost his mind, so its all good. |

| Haha.
Yes you are correct you can teleport so you could avoid PvP if you wanted to badly enough, but then you'd have to leave whatever good you had on your ship in the contested port on that ship, so they'd in essence be stuck there until you move them. Then with 12 ports it's possible, though I think unlikely that all your ships could be stuck...that would be...annoying. Hehe.

| Well, remember that you get an invulnerability period...so if they sink you once, you'll at least have a shot at getting out the second time. |
