Dear Gents of the Highland Conferderacy,

My name is Malcolm Thatcher, I am a Freetrader whom sails under the colours of the Irish.

I'm born and raised in Bantry, and often sailed from Bantry Bay to supply other towns

around the southern coasts of the great land of Ireland.

I recently received a buissiness proposition to sail unto the new world, to Spanish Town, which

I surprisingly learned was owned by the French! I just lately sailed unto the Antilles, and the

area around which Saint Johns and Spanish Town and now casrry goods from the Antilles

around that area and just lately heard of the Highland Confederacy and their calling to Irish,

Welsh, Scotsmen, and even French captains.

I have contacts also that will be willing to escort our heavily loaded convoys in trade, such as

my cousin, Donnagan O'Toole, an Irish Naval officer whom might find time to travel to our

ports and escort any merchant ships from port to port.

I can supply you with goods from my plantations, many pastures, and mills, etc. that I might

produce around Saint Johns and my current port of call in Spanish town, of which many

resources can be found. Freedom to the Irish!

Sincerely,
Malcolm Thatcher

What is Roleplaying to me?
I would have to say it is an escape path from normal everyday, normal, boring and sometimes

angering life. I enjoy to roleplay and often do on another game as well... But I enjoy

roleplay, because roleplay is like a secret retreat in my mind where it feels as it you go back

into the past and see through what another might at that current time. I enjoy using my

imagination and roleplay often when I play an online game like Pirates of the Burning Sea.

Why do I want to join the Highland Confederacy?
I would have to say because I read up a little and found this to be a historically perhaps

"Accurate" society, that might have been around at the time and am interested in finding a good

society with good members and those who could help me and to where I could help others,

crafting wise in the game.

I am 13 years old and live in the US, in the state of Virginia, but am mature for my age and

try to be as courtious as possible to others in game.

ooc: Greatheart Paladin, Durak Dragonfoe, of The Royal Order of Knights, was only 12 at the time, and he was a knight of great honor. Age is not the measure of one's maturity -- behaviour is.

Indeed as my fellow brother so well stated in the above, courage is not measured by a man's age laddy!

And remember in those days 'o old many a sailor was in fact very young, so i bid ye a warmhearted welcome to our most humble retreat away from our homes...

I see well if i may your cousin is as welcome as any man i'd say, but there is a certain issue were "naval officers" are concerned! To the best 'o my knowledge which is vast i might add *ahum* your cousin as well as yourself would or should be French in fact for him to be a naval officer, for we The Confederacy 'o Highlanders have no such thing as a navy of our own!

I think it would be best if you'd search under some tree and find an officer, for we have such "individuals"! Wink

Me cousin Donnagan was out of work, cept fer what the French navy offered him, but as of now, he is anxious to join up and recently told me he was invited and accepted by your higher ranking officers, no offense by the comment. He has been working in the French navy, but now between the tasks they give him and the Confederacy, he will assure us safe convoys to the merchants o' the confederacy!

I see, so ye took me humble advice and went lookin' for an officer eh?! If they have given ye written permission on said subject there should be no concerns for your cousin, so i trust no flogging or keelhaulin' here...
